NAXCOM.com, which acquired ThePit.com from the Topps Company in 2006, has added over 500 new items over the past year. This past March, NAXCOM expanded ThePit into Wax Boxes.

Now, NAXCOM is expanding ThePit even farther. Starting on Wednesday September 12th, ThePit will be expanded into First Cover Sports Illustrateds of some of today's greatest stars including the very First SI Covers of Alex Rodriguez, Tiger Woods, Ken Griffey Jr., and six others.

The First Cover SI's are in Mint Newsstand condition with no mailing label. As with all purchases on ThePit, users have the option to pay a S/H fee (see below) to receive their purchased items or leave them in their account to sell or receive at a later date.

In addition, ThePit will be running special offers (see below) if you purchase SI IPO's between 9/12 -9/16 . Once you qualify, simply email us at vip@naxcom.com with your Pit account number and the SI magazine you have qualified for and that SI magazine will be deposited into your Pit account the week of 9/17.

On Wednesday (9/12) at 5pm (PST), ThePit will be launching 9 different First Cover SI's including:

1. Ken Griffey Jr. - "The Natural" (May 7, 1990)
2. Alex Rodriguez - "Hot Player" (Jul. 8, 1996)

If I buy the items can I pay to have them shipped to me?
Similar to the items offered on ThePit now, users will have the option to purchase Sports Illustrated and pay a Shipping fee, or leave them in their account at ThePit to sell or receive at a later time. Shipping fees will be $4.75 to receive the first issue, and $1.50 for each additional issue.
Why would I leave them in my account?
This unique feature is what separates ThePit from any other site out there. By having the ability to leave the Sports Illustrated(s) in your account, you can speculate on which collector items you think are going to go up in price over time. Once you are ready to sell, you simply sell them at a later time. This feature gives you the ability to "invest" without ever having to deal with the inventory and the shipping costs associated with that.

If I own the Sports Illustrated Issue being offered on ThePit can I sell them to ThePit?
No. Currently, you can not send in or deposit any SI's into your account.
